When & Where
Described as Nashville’s best kept secret, Hachland Hill (pronounced “ha”-land, like a laugh) is a former tobacco farm and vineyard that now serves as a retreat and refuge, boasting beautiful meadows, hiking trails, rustic inns, a rushing creek, and more. Hachland Hill is located about 20 minutes from downtown Nashville in the small community of Joelton, Tennessee.
The land on which Hachland Hill is nestled was originally home to Cherokee and Chickasaw peoples.
Phila Rawlings Hach, an accomplished chef and hospitality innovator, inherited the land on which Hachland Hill resides. Phila was one of the first women to appear on television in the South and created the very first menu for upscale airline dining for American Airlines. Phila’s grandson, Carter, is an Ole Miss alum and now runs the retreat as well as the kitchen at Hachland Hill.
